Kiena Mine

Kiena is located approximately 10 kilometres west of Val-d’Or, Québec, within the ancestral territories of the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation. Kiena is a fully permitted, high-grade gold mine with a 930-metre production shaft, and a 2,000 tonne-per-day capacity mill. Operations began at Kiena in 1981 and continued until the mine entered care and maintenance in 2003. Following the discovery of the Kiena Deep A Zone in 2016, a pre-feasibility study was completed in 2021. Mining operations re-started that same year, and commercial production was achieved in December 2022.
